Abstract

Public speaking is a crucial competence for santri (Islamic boarding school students) in fulfilling their roles in dakwah (religious proselytizing) and social interaction. However, psychological barriers such as low self-confidence and technical limitations are frequently encountered. This community service project aims to enhance the self-confidence of santri at Pondok Pesantren Al Mahmud Tanjungsari through a workshop utilizing a mixed-learning approach and simulations. The program involved academics from STAI YAPATA Al Jawami Bandung as expert instructors. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, group discussions, direct practice, the use of digital media, and comprehensive evaluations. The primary challenge of the program was schedule coordination amidst the students’ dense boarding school activities. The results show a significant improvement in self-confidence, vocal technique mastery, and audience management skills. Beyond personal soft skill development, this activity also enhanced the positive image of the pesantren among parents as an institution adaptive to modern communication needs. This program is recommended for continuous implementation to produce communicatively competent preachers.
