An Analysis of the Vocabulary in Prof. Muhaiban Hubbul Maktum Based on Contextual Theory
Abstract
As a means of communication, language that has a lot of vocabulary, both spoken and written, will have its own meanings. However, these meanings will change if the meaning of the word must follow a context that accompanies it, then the meaning of the word does not necessarily follow its original meaning. This is called contextual meaning theory. The purpose of this study is to find out the meaning of language in the vocabulary in Prof Muhaiban's book Hubbul Maktum, for individual meanings in vocabulary, and to find out the cultural meaning of the vocabulary in the book. The approach taken by the researcher here is library research and the data source that the researcher takes is the book "hubbul maktum" by Prof. Muhaiban. In this study the authors found various contextual meanings, namely the meaning of language totaling 9 individual contextual words totaling 4 and cultural contextual words totaling 1. scientific/novel in Arabic.
