This research is motivated by the practice of the Living Qur’an implemented at the Nuruts Tsamarot Qur'an Memorization Boarding School (PTQ), located in Panyabungan Jae, Panyabungan District, Mandailing Natal Regency. At this Islamic boarding school, the recitation of Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah, Al-Mulk, and Nūh has become part of the students' daily routine. Every night after the Maghrib prayer, the students collectively recite these three surahs. This activity aims to habituate the students in consistently (istiqomah) reading and practicing the Qur'an, as well as fostering a love for the Qur'an. It is hoped that this habit will draw them closer to Allah SWT and bring benefits to their daily lives. The recitation of these surahs is not merely performed as a form of interaction with the Qur'an, but is also grounded in the belief in the specific virtues (fadhilah) of each surah. The purpose of this research is to understand how the practice of reciting Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah, Al-Mulk, and Nūh is carried out at PTQ Nuruts Tsamarot, and the reasons why the students prefer these three surahs over others. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach in the form of field research, employing the Living Qur’an method as its analytical framework. Data was collected through interviews with the management and several students of PTQ Nuruts Tsamarot, supported by relevant literature to strengthen the findings. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the tradition of reciting Surah Al-Wāqi‘ah, Al-Mulk, and Nūh encompasses various spiritual and psychological benefits. The students experience inner tranquility, ease in sustenance (rizq), and ease in various life affairs. Other positive impacts are also felt as fruits of the habit of regularly reciting these three surahs.
