Abstract

In this digital era, juvenile delinquency is rampant and has detrimental effects on many parties, including families, communities, and the adolescents themselves. This aligns with 2016 UNICEF data indicating that juvenile delinquency reached 50%. News reports frequently highlight numerous cases involving teenagers, especially nowadays. This phenomenon occurs due to the lack of religious guidance within individuals. A 2018 census conducted by Statistics Indonesia (BPS) revealed that 53.57% of Muslims in Indonesia cannot read the Qur'an. Yet, the Qur'an is the guide to life for Muslims, and internalizing its values among teenagers serves as a preventive solution against deviant behavior and fosters the cultivation of a Quranic character in youth. This research is field research, employing a descriptive qualitative approach and using the Living Qur'an method. Sources for this study were gathered through interviews with respondents. These were further supported by references from various literature to optimize the research findings. Data collection was achieved through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The findings of this research describe the practices of the "Al-Hidayah Teen Study Group" in Panyabungan III. The group meets every Saturday night after the Isha prayer, rotating between members' homes. Sessions begin with the customary recitation of Yasin, followed by rotational recitation of the Qur'an (tadarus), and conclude with informal dialogue among members and the host. This activity provides numerous positive benefits for the teenage members. Among these are training in reading the Qur'an and eliminating toxic social circles.
